I started this TechSpotting Brown Bag at work and this month had Ryan Ozawa come and talk about blogging. He came up with a great title: From Declaration to Conversation. Initially I thought Ryan might talk about his various web projects. He did but he also did a superb job in weaving it around the context of corporate blogs. I will in the very near future post the podcast of Ryan's talk once I get around to doing a little post production work. In the meantime I have his Del.icio.us link to all the sites (and more) that he mentioned in his talk.

The Internet is Tubes
Another interesting sidebar from our Bytemarks lunch discussion about Net Neutrality was this apparently profound speech that Sen. Ted Stevens did about the subject. I was almost thrown out of the geek club for not having heard about it when it first happened back in June. But hey, I've been living under a rock these days. So I decided the best place to get the scoop was on YouTube. The first video which captures the essence of Sen. Stevens' talk was by Jon Stewart from his Comedy Central analysis. Stewart doesn't even have to be funny since Sen. Stevens does a good enough job by himself. Next up is the "Internet is a Series of Tubes" Remix. This one is pretty catchy and it didn't take them long to product this piece. Finally, it's a good idea to listen to the source itself and be your own judge of whether or not Sen. Stevens makes any sense. Public Knowledge, a Washington D.C. advocacy group defending our rights in the emerging digital culture posted the entire Sen. Stevens delivery.

Community media
At our Bytemarks lunch this past Thursday, we had an impromtu discussion on Net Neutrality and by some coincidence of fate, Roxanne Darling shows up with her video camera after delivering a petition of the same topic to Sen. Inouye's office. Now what are the odds of that? Well, it was fun and we got some of it on video. Check out BeachWalks.tv show #190. What are your thoughts on Net Neutrality?
